t is the aim of the A&D LIG Initiative to help A&D SIG members meet with each other in an organized meeting format and exchange their ideas and experiences specific to their interests. A&D LIG activities will help PMI chapters to better serve some of the specialized needs of a segment of the chapter membership. In this regard, it is against A&D SIG policy to support A&D LIG activities that compete with or detract from other chapter activities.

The A&D SIG recognizes that each PMI chapter (Local A&D SIG Affiliate) has different needs and objectives, so A&D SIG’s involvement with each A&D LIG will vary depending on specific chapter ground rules and needs. The program is designed to be flexible, providing a framework for the A&D SIG and PMI chapters to work together.

Registration
Any A&D SIG member may apply to their chapter (with an info copy to the A&D SIG) to form an A&D LIG. A formal application must be completed, confirmed by the signature of an authorized chapter officer and filed with A&D SIG. Application to the program constitutes acceptance of these rules. As part of A&D SIG's approval process for applicants, the officer of the local chapter (A&D LIG Affiliate) will be contacted to confirm their support for establishing the A&D LIG. After establishing the A&D LIG, chapter members who are also members of the A&D SIG can join the A&D LIG at their discretion.

In those cases where a chapter is not available, a A&D SIG member can apply directly to the A&D SIG to form an A&D LIG and for membership in that LIG. Upon establishing the A&D LIG, the A&D SIG will facilitate notifying all A&D SIG members in that local area of the existence of the A&D LIG to promote increased membership to the LIG and kickoff of A&D LIG activities.

Relationship of the Parties
In those cases where a local PMI chapter is available, A&D SIG members need to be members of the local chapter in order to form and/or participate in the chapter’s A&D LIG, unless otherwise agreed with the chapter. In those cases where a local chapter is not available, A&D SIG members do not have to be chapter members to form and/or participate in an A&D LIG.

Responsibilities of the A&D SIG
A&D SIG undertakes to support A&D LIGs (those that are part of chapters and those that are independent) through the provision of advice, guidance, promotion, and advertising. Support also includes use of the A&D SIG name and limited and defined financial support. The specific financial support that A&D SIG will provide will be agreed between the A&D LIG, the chapter, and the A&D SIG.

Responsibilities of the Chapter
Each PMI chapter participating in the program (i.e. as a Local A&D SIG Affiliate) retains full legal and fiscal responsibility for the affairs conducted by an A&D LIG. The chapter is responsible for organizing & supporting the organization of A&D LIG activities which could include such events as meetings, seminars, workshops, tours, trade shows or job fairs. The scope, frequency, duration and content of such events are at the discretion of the A&D LIG, as agreed upon by the chapter. However, the A&D SIG will support and provide content to such events if requested.

Financial Support
A&D SIG will on occasion provide financial and other forms of support as may be appropriate and agreed to by vote of the A&D SIG BoD All support provided by A&D SIG is on a "best effort" basis. A&D SIG will only be obligated to provide specific support for this program where a written promise of support is signed by the Chair of A&D SIG.

Use of PMI® Logo and Name
A&D LIGs may be granted specific use of the A&D SIG logo upon written application to the A&D SIG. The chapter (Local A&D SIG Affiliate) must agree to conform to the conditions of use specified by A&D SIG.

Power to Act on Behalf of A&D SIG
Neither a local chapter (A&D SIG Affiliate) nor any officer or representative of the associated chapter and the affiliated A&D LIG may act on behalf of the A&D SIG or make any contractual commitments, which binds A&D SIG, without written authority of the Chair of the A&D SIG.

Amendments
A&D SIG reserves the right to change any element of the A&D LIG Initiative.

Term of the Agreement
Each A&D LIG must renew its participation in the program annually by completing an annual survey.

Termination of the Program
A&D SIG reserves the right to terminate its support for this program at any time.

Termination of the Agreement
Any chapter may withdraw from this A&D LIG initiative at any time, at which point they will no longer be a Local A&D SIG Affiliate. Termination of an affiliate relationship or withdrawal from the initiative does not relieve a chapter from their legal/mutual obligations under these rules.
